When I first opened my eyes,
She was there.
When I needed a friend,
She was there.
When I asked for help,
She was there.
When I wanted someone to talk to,
She was there.
When I sought a secret-keeper,
She was there.
When I had to bribe my Mom,
She was there.
When I had to hide anything from my Dad,
She was there.
When I sneaked in home late at night,
She was there.
When I looked for a shoulder to cry on,
She was there.
When I looked for my binge-partner,
She was there.
Through days and nights, through joy and pain,
Through tears and laughter, through wins and losses,
She has always been there, and I know she is always going to be.
For when I opened my eyes, she was right there.
For when I first saw her, my sister was curling my hair!
